Soft, freshly wrapped, and bursting with flavour, they are a comfort food that spans across regions, cultures, and generations. The story behind ‘Dimsum Box’ is about how a popular street food can grow into a nationwide brand using smart new ideas and genuine, welcoming service.
“It started with a dream, ₹20,000 in hand, and
the determination to build something of my own. I began with a small kiosk in
Chandigarh in 2014, learning the food business from the ground up, and that
journey eventually shaped Dimsum Box in 2019. The growth, however, has never
been mine alone, our franchise partners trusted the vision, invested in the
brand and worked alongside us to take Dimsum Box across India. What began with
₹20,000 and one entrepreneur’s belief has today become the collective journey of
our team and growing franchise family,” says Rahul Tyagi, Founder of Dimsum
Box.
The vision was to create a welcoming space
where food becomes an engaging experience, leaving every guest with a lasting
sense of satisfaction, and making comfort food both inventive and balanced.
Recognising that people wanted healthier choices without losing the joy of
their favourite food, the kitchen introduced whole-wheat and ragi momos as a
wholesome alternative to refined flour. The menu features over forty varieties
but the real magic, however, lies in the signature accompaniments.
*A standout for the Thane outlet remains the
traditional Nepalese-inspired Jhol Momos, served floating in a rich, spiced
broth that offers a deeply warming experience. Bringing it all together are the
brand’s signature accompaniments, most notably a chili garlic oil dip and a
distinctive red chutney crafted from a blend of 20 secret spices sourced across
India and Nepal.* box
They operate on a philosophy centered around
warm hospitality and togetherness which is especially evident at key
milestones, such as the Thane outlet, which marked the brand’s first official
footprint in Maharashtra. Designed to feel like more than just a standard
quick-service restaurant where people hurry in and out, the goal is to create a
comfortable, neighborhood gathering spot which brings people together.
Standardised hygiene and preparation processes ensure reliability, while
attentive service and positive energy give the space its human touch.
“Consistency doesn't mean losing the human
touch. For me, hospitality is just as important as the food. A genuine smile, a
warm welcome and positive energy can make a significant difference to someone's
experience,” says Bhumika.
A great restaurant is built on how it makes people feel. By turning a simple street-food favourite into a thoughtful, everyday comfort, the brand continues to grow; one plate, one warm smile, and one happy memory at a time.
