A Guide For Thane Homes

Monsoon brings relief, but also moisture, and that’s wallpaper’s biggest enemy. In humid cities like Thane and Mumbai, peeling edges, bubbles and mould spots are common

if care is not taken.

Prevention starts with the wall itself. Dampness is the root cause. Before installing wallpaper, ensure waterproofing on external walls and check for leakages. Use anti-fungal primer and high-quality adhesive recommended for humid climates.

During monsoon, keep humidity in check. Ventilate rooms daily, even if it’s just for 30 minutes when it’s not raining. Use a dehumidifier or run your AC in dry mode for an hour to absorb excess moisture. This prevents adhesive from loosening.

Cleaning needs care too. Never use excess water. Gently wipe with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth. For stains, use a mild soap solution and pat dry immediately. Avoid scrubbing vinyl or fabric wallpapers harshly.

Pay special attention to corners, behind furniture and near windows – these trap moisture first. If you notice edges lifting, fix them immediately with wallpaper adhesive before moisture seeps further.

A little vigilance during June to September will ensure your wallpaper stays fresh, seamless and mould-free for years.
