Celebrating 79 Glorious Years of Freedom at GEI’s Blossom International School

India’s 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great pride, patriotism, and unity at the GEI’s Blossom International School Ground. The event brought together students, teachers, parents, and respected guests to honour the journey of our nation’s freedom.

The programme began with a warm welcome and a tribute to all freedom fighters who gave their lives for India’s independence. The Indian National Flag was proudly
hoisted, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with energy and emotion.

The Chief Guest for the event was Ex. Senior Police Officer Mr Satish Gaikwad, who was warmly welcomed by GEI Director Mr Suresh Jadhav. Other dignitaries present
were Mr Sanjay Kanitkar, Mr Pradeep Gosavi, Mrs Nilaja Patil (Principal, Blossom School), Mr Sanjay Nalawde (Principal, S.V. Joshi School), and Mrs Samata Pawaskar (Principal, A.K. Dixit School) along with teaching and nonteaching staff of SVJ Campus.

A special initiative for Raksha Bandhan was shared during the event, where students from Classes 5 to 8 of Blossom School wrote heartfelt letters to Indian soldiers, thanking them for their service. These letters were hand-delivered to army bases across India. The school thanked the Rotaract Club of Thane Downtown for supporting this thoughtful project.

Winners of various competitions were felicitated by the dignitaries, encouraging students to always aim high and do their best. A powerful patriotic song, “Shoor Amhi Sardar”, was then performed by the students of S.V. Joshi School. Their musical tribute received loud applause from the audience. The event ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the Chief Guest, guests of honour, parents, staff, students, and volunteers who helped make the day memorable. Special thanks were given to NCC cadets, performers, and organizing teams for their hard work and dedication.

Before dispersal, chikki was distributed to all students. Teachers guided students with care and ensured cleanliness was maintained by requesting everyone to use the dustbins properly.

The celebration concluded with powerful slogans of:
∙ “79 व्या भारतीय स्वातंत्र्य दिनाचा विजय असो!”
∙“भारत माता की जय!”
∙“वदं े मातरम्!” (Each chanted three times)

The event was not just a celebration but a reminder that freedom is a responsibility—something to be protected and respected every single day. It was truly a proud moment for everyone present.
